Best Countertop Reverse Osmosis Systems 2026
A countertop reverse osmosis system gives you RO water with no plumbing. You fill a tank from the tap, plug the unit in, and a pump pushes the water through the membrane into a jug or a clean-water tank. The catch is certification. Each of these units is sold as certified, but the listings behind that word differ a lot: one covers fluoride, lead, arsenic and PFAS, another covers TDS and nothing else. We looked up each model in the certifier's own directory on 5 October 2026 and list the substances it names.

Bluevua: which model is certified
Bluevua sells several ROPOT versions, and the certification differs by model, which is easy to miss on a product listing. In the WQA directory on 5 October 2026:
- RO100ROPOT-Lite and RO100ROPOT-YMT: NSF/ANSI 58 for lead, cadmium, trivalent chromium and TDS.
- RO100ROPOT-Lite (UV) and RO100ROPOT-Travel: NSF/ANSI 58 for cadmium, trivalent chromium and TDS. Lead is not on these two listings.
- RO100ROPOT and RO100ROPOT (UV): NSF/ANSI 372 only. That standard covers lead-free materials and does not certify any reduction.
None of the Bluevua listings names fluoride, arsenic or PFAS. If those are your reasons for buying RO, the AquaTru listings cover them.
Models we looked up and did not find listed
We searched the NSF, IAPMO and WQA directories on 5 October 2026 for Dreo and SimPure and found no listings for their countertop RO units. iSpring has NSF listings, but for under-sink systems, not a countertop one. A missing listing does not mean a unit filters badly. It means no one has certified what it removes, so there is nothing for us to check its claims against, and we leave it out of the picks.
How to choose a countertop RO system
A water quality report or a lab test tells you whether fluoride, lead, arsenic or PFAS is the problem. Then pick a unit whose listing names that substance. For PFAS, our PFAS lookup shows what EPA found in your water system.
"NSF/ANSI 58" on a box can mean a long list of substances or just TDS. AquaTru's 58 listing names fluoride, lead and arsenic; Waterdrop's M6 listing names TDS alone. Both are honest uses of the same standard number.
The listings give daily production: 54 gallons a day for the AquaTru Classic, 35 for the Carafe. For a family that cooks with filtered water, the faster unit saves waiting for refills.
RO sends part of the water to a waste tank you empty by hand. Waterdrop states 3:1 pure-to-drain for the M6 models. Every unit here also has filters to replace, so look up their prices before you buy.
