SpringWell CF+ Review 2026 — Is It Worth It?
This SpringWell CF review covers one of the most talked-about whole-house filters in the US. We checked its NSF certifications, mapped the specs, and looked at real owner feedback. Here’s our honest verdict on whether the CF+ is worth it.
Is SpringWell NSF certified?
SpringWell lists the CF+ as using components tested and certified to NSF/ANSI 42 (taste and odor) and NSF/ANSI 53 (health contaminants including PFAS and lead). Note the distinction between “certified components” and a fully system-certified unit, and confirm the specific contaminant you care about on the official NSF International database before buying.
Performance & specs
The CF+ uses catalytic carbon block filtration — a higher-grade carbon than standard activated carbon. Catalytic carbon has a larger surface area and is more effective at removing PFAS and chloramines than standard carbon.
SpringWell CF+ vs Aquasana Rhino
On municipal water, the CF+’s closest rival is the Aquasana Rhino EQ-1000. Both are whole-house catalytic-carbon systems with similar contaminant coverage. SpringWell generally wins on long-term value and yearly upkeep and includes a lifetime warranty, while Aquasana has wider retail availability (including Amazon) and stronger brand recognition. Neither removes bacteria on its own — for well water you’d add a UV stage.
Installation
The CF+ installs on the main water line where it enters your home. SpringWell provides detailed video installation guides. Most homeowners with basic plumbing experience can install it in 2-4 hours.
You’ll need to shut off the main water supply, cut into the main line, and connect the filter housing. If you’re not comfortable with this, a plumber can install it in under an hour.
